Meet the Hippy Sister

Artist. Researcher. Scientist's daughter. Hippie at heart.

I grew up in a home shaped by the spirit of the late ’60s — where fitness, nutrition, curiosity, and creativity were part of daily life. My father was a scientist, an athlete, a devotee of the classical arts, and a fearless health-food enthusiast. Mornings started with bee pollen, wheat germ oil, molasses, and yogurt, followed by a run, a swim, or whatever physical challenge he dreamed up. He taught us to think deeply, live intentionally, and care for our bodies and minds. His passion for learning and healthy living became the root of my own.

Creativity was equally encouraged. I painted, sewed stuffed animals and quilts, shaped pottery, arranged mosaics — happily losing hours making things by hand. At the same time, my love of science grew. I earned a BS in Business from USC and a BS in Nursing from Johns Hopkins, supporting myself by tutoring science students and shelving medical journals in the library, often getting lost in the research long after my shift ended.

My career path was just as eclectic: corporate work, restaurant owner, labor & delivery nurse, then nursing instructor at our community college. I loved each chapter, but none lit me up the way creating does.

So, how did I become a soapmaker? The short answer: I finally figured out what I want to be when I grow up.

Today, I blend everything I love — science, creativity, artistry, nature, and nourishment — into every bar. My soaps are mini sculptures, crafted with organic oils, exotic butters, silk, clays, and botanicals. They’re as beautiful as they are beneficial.

My dream is to share this luxurious world of handcrafted soap with you — the art, the intention, the research, the love, and the joy that go into it. I hope that one day you’ll hold one of my creations and say, “This is the best soap I’ve ever used.”

If you’re reading this, it means you’ve given my work a chance.
From the bottom of my heart — thank you.
